Improving feeding profile strategy for hydrogen production by <i>Cyanothece</i> sp. ATCC 51142 using meta-heuristic methods

Hydrogen has received considerable attention as a sustainable energy source to the future and biological hydrogen production been gaining consideration potential method. One microorganism that produces is nitrogen-fixing cyanobacterium Cyanothece sp. ATCC 51142, which stands out for its rate of production. However, there are still some challenges understanding improving process by this cyanobacterium. Thus, work aimed perform an in silico study feeding profile strategy 51142 batch/fed-batch improve amount generated during process. Two meta-heuristic methods were used find best switch time between batch fed-batch modes. similar results both methods, but PSO indicated simpler policy, leading 19.5% more produced than reported literature.
